In examining the February University of New Hampshire polling on the Maine Senate race, I found that Platner fared better among non-college-educated voters than Mills too.

Nah. At this point the legacy media has torched their credibility so badly with the democratic rank and file (which they don’t realize, because our elites are still so friendly to them) and the story would be hand waved and, if not hand waveable, assumed to be false.
There are almost no working class people in comments or writing substacks, so our perspective is seldom heard. I use the same measure political scientists and pollsters use these days, a bachelor's degree. It might be arbitrary but it works.
Of course there is also my gut reaction too. Platner would fit right in throwing chain on a drill rig in the arctic or framing houses in the summer heat of Tucson. For that he is hated by the elites which is one of the best bonafides you could wish for.
Of course you don't need to be working class to be liked by the working class, I'm thinking of course of that black Harvard Law grad who was the last Dem to win the working class vote in a Presidential election. Authenticity works.
I disagree with Platner on some make or break issues, but I know that given the choice I'd have to vote for him.
1. White-collar workers were indoctrinated right after WW II into believing they were not working class but members of a superior "middle class" that had no need for unions. Since then, the democracy managers have reinforced that sense of superiority by adding the categories of "rural", "low-income", and "low-education".
2. In a recent interview, Platner was repeatedly questioned whether there were "more pictures out there" that could scuttle his run. I think it not outside the realm of possibility his enemies may have some kind of deep fake in the works.
